A Brand Named “Brand Kochi”
Update: 2024.10.11
When I first heard about Brand Kochi Co., Ltd. through a Kochi Prefecture’s oversea business venture, it reminded me of the amusing knock-off logos I had seen on goods in Shanghai.
However, Brand Kochi stands apart, thanks to its rich backstory and the company’s dedication to producing high-quality products.
The origin of Brand Kochi’s product development began with CEO Mr. Nakajima’s deep love for Kochi, where he was born and raised. Wanting to share the charm of his hometown with the world, he founded a company named “Brand Kochi.”
Drawing on his knowledge of Arabic calligraphy from his school days, Mr. Nakajima created a unique logo using kanji characters.
Initially, this finely created logo was featured on lower-quality items, but with a passion for producing quality goods that reflected the elegance of high-end brands, Mr. Nakajima sought out the best manufacturing facilities on his own. He eventually found one in China, a country known for producing high-end luxury products.
It was through this process that Brand Kochi’s first premium line of products was born, combining craftsmanship with the essence of Kochi.
Many luxury brands manufacture their goods in China and South Korea, so it is no surprise that counterfeit items with similar logos are found in those countries.
However, Brand Kochi is fully trademarked and stands by the authenticity of its products.
The uniqueness of Brand Kochi’s offerings soon attracted attention from celebrities and were even featured on social media and television, further boosting the brand’s visibility.
Driven by his mission to offer “luxury-quality products at affordable prices,” Mr. Nakajima expanded his business beyond leather goods.
His personal struggles with skin issues, along with his knowledge of chemical substances, inspired him to create a line of skincare products free of additives.
Brand Kochi’s skincare line is infused with premium ingredients that are currently popular in Japan, such as human stem cell culture extract and placenta.
While Singapore is known for its relatively relaxed import regulations for developed nations, the import of stem cell culture ingredients remains restricted. Unfortunately, this meant we couldn’t send samples during this project.
Through Brand Kochi’s products, you can sense Mr. Nakajima’s deep connection to his birth place (Kochi) and the passion to share his love with people worldwide.
